Season of Change

By Noah Marlin, Member Relations Coordinator

One of my favorite things about The Hideout is the raw beauty that encompasses the landscape. This Spring, we have been blessed with fair and wet weather, bringing in a bounty of greenery around every turn. From our entrances to the lake, a wide variety of wildflowers are in full bloom. If you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend taking a scenic drive through the property to see the rainbow of color around the resort. For those that can’t make it to our corner of paradise, here is a glimpse of what has developed this season.

Community News

As many may be aware, there have been some big changes happening around the resort. I’d like to take this time to make some official announcements about our plans moving forward. As of April 17, land sales have been put on pause. Selling lots and expanding The Hideout family has been a crucial component of our operations, but what is also crucial is getting certain projects off the ground. This temporary shift to our business model allows us to focus our efforts on improving the quality of our community. One project you will see being fast-tracked is the much-anticipated cluster mailboxes. The designs were recently approved and include some other improvements to the Feather Bay Boulevard entrance. Stay tuned!

Team Updates

With the sales department on hiatus, some allocations in staff had to be made. We bid a fond farewell to Cathryn as she pursues her real estate endeavors, though she made it clear she would still frequent the resort to say hello! Though no longer a salesman for us, Jerry continues to live it up on the property soaking in the club life. Courtney is now the new Director of Event Sales and Catering, meaning she will be your go-to for all things events. Wylan continues to provide our digital content, working alongside marketing teams to promote The Hideout and keeping everyone informed through our social channels. I continue to serve the community as your Member Relations Coordinator providing assistance to members and staff alike. As we continue this shift, feel free to come by the Information Center – previously the Sales Office – to ask questions, drop off house plans, or seek any other assistance. The new office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST. We appreciate your patience and are excited for the things to come.

Spec Home Program

In our previous newsletter, the Spec Home Program was discussed. Our third semi-custom home has since been finished, welcoming our newest residents! It was also mentioned that our fourth home was nearing completion and up for grabs, however, it too has since been sold! It’s been exciting to see the positive feedback surrounding the program, so this is something we may revisit in the future.

Home Construction

On the topic of homes, the Architectural Control Committee “ACC” continues to review new house plans. The purpose of the committee is to ensure all construction projects adhere to the covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&R's) of each subdivision. These policies have been put in place to protect the interests of all Hideout residents, providing safety and keeping the community looking beautiful. For more information about the ACC or building, you can visit hideouttxhoa.com or contact the Information Center.

Property Owner Information

Lastly, there has been an influx of inquiries about this year’s POA dues. The physical notices have been delayed in getting mailed this year, so all members should contact the POA by calling 844-501-6716 during their office hours – Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST.

If you visit The Hideout, you’ll find the golf course meticulously maintained, boasting a lush green state. We’re grateful for all contributing factors – from our hardworking grounds crew to the new pumps and rain this year – there is no shortage of things to be thankful for.

From the Lodge

By Matthew Weeks, Resort Manager

Thank you to The Hideout Property Owners and Members for welcoming me with such open arms as my family and I have settled here in beautiful Brownwood, Texas. I hope you have all begun to see the many exciting changes we are introducing throughout the resort. My ultimate goal during my time here is to make the resort a place where you, as our focus audience, have something to be proud of. A place where we know you by name, we deliver top-notch service, and hopefully give you something to show off to your loved ones in the near future.

New Coffee Shop

Haven Coffee has completed renovations, and the team is in preparation for the grand opening on Friday, June 9th. Haven is meant to be a place to grab your morning latte, or your tee-off coffee and bagel… a working spot with high-powered Wi-Fi, providing a studious warm leather feel. We will be happy to offer our property owners and members a discount at Haven on every visit.

The Copper Bar introduces our new executive chef, Michael Wilson. Chef Mike, as we call him, has a long list of reputable steak, seafood, and Mexican infusion dining experience. We are more than thrilled about his future with us as we continue to improve the quality of food and beverage operations this year. We hope you get the chance to come try his new menu releasing late June.

The Pool Bar is open! From Wednesday to Sunday the pool bar will be serving great bites and tropical drinks.

Live Entertainment is available every Saturday in June and July. Check our Facebook page for more information.

I look forward to a very active summer here at The Hideout. Lots of great things are on the way!

Please note that during the WAPT event dates, from June 9 to June 16, the Grill will be open with a limited menu.
